The philosophy at Baan San Fan is to ensure that when the children finally leave the orphanage they are prepared for their future. We have limited resources to achieve this so recently we have been looking to our partners for help with education and training.
On Friday (11th March) two of the girls attended interviews with one of our partners - Aleenta. This is an excellent opportunity for both to learn about the hotel and catering business in one of the area's most prestigious hotels.
The hotel manager, Yann Gouriou, speaks fluent English which meant that the six of us could sit down at a table and discuss how to move forward. He agreed that Tang May would come for a year and June for a month. Aleenta would provide full on-the-job training as well as accomodation and a modest salary. Tang May will also get 5 hours a week of English training.
This is wonderful news for both the girls and Baan San Fan and we would like to take this opportunity to wish June and Tang May the best of luck and to thank Yann Gouriou and his staff at the Aleenta for their all of their help and kindness.
