5 little piggies

We have plenty of land at Baan San Fan and we're always looking for new and productive ways to use it. One of our friends' pigs had a litter recently and they've outgrown their pen so we agreed to take them in. We already had an old pig shed, so, after a bit of patching up, we set off to pick up our little swines.

Its fair to say that all did not go well. Firstly, you need to actually get the pigs into their transporters. After about 30 minutes of enticements and cajoling we eventually managed to get 2 of the pigs in and closed the gate. However, disaster struck immediately as the smallest of the group managed to wriggle its way through a very small gap in the bars. Now we were chasing around the orchard after a squealing pig! We eventually caught it and used a bit of Thai ingenuity (its amazing what you can do with rubber and string) to reduce the gaps.

We were now looking at four very wary pigs. It took alot of feed but after about 2 hours we finally managed to get the last one on the truck. So, we returned home with the Hilux fully laden but it was fair to say that it was a bit ripe in the cabin!

The pigs are all very cute and they seem to be enjoying their new pen and surroundings. The kids love to feed them and their waste makes wonderful fertiliser for the organic farm.
